CASTLE BROMWICH JUNIOR SCHOOL’S GREAT DAY OUT!

10 December 2019 (by castleb)

On the 21st of November, all of Castle Bromwich, including staff went to the Alexandra Theatre to watch the well-known Billionaire Boy, which is written by Britain’s got talent judge David Walliams.

The entire school travelled to town on coaches. Once we arrived at the extravagant theatre, we waited in the lobby for a few short minutes to be greeted by the smartly dressed staff. They then escorted us to dress circle A25, where we quickly found our seats and sat down. After five minutes of excited whispers and thrilled glances the first actor appeared on the stage and started of the fabulous performance. Finally, teachers could relax and the first whole school trip CBJS was well under way. But as we everyone knows all good things must come to an end. Well at least for a few minutes or so.

During the interval, we had a Kit Kat bar to enjoy along with a carton of apple juice. Whilst everyone was stretching their legs, the curtain began to opening for the second half. Suddenly, everyone rushed back to their seats and people called out “Its opening! Its opening! ”. Even the teachers were quiet! Well there is a first time for everything. Eventually, what we all were dreading was happening. The magnificent show was coming to a close. As the wonderful actors took their last bow we began to get on our coats, hats, gloves and scarves. One class at a time began walking out the auditorium and going down the stairs. With everyone on the coaches we travelled back to school.

Later on, we interviewed some teachers and students. Mrs Dawes, who is one of many excellent year six teachers, said she was very excited when she knew we were going to be watching Billionaire Boy and wanted to read the book. We also asked Zara, a girl in year five, what she thought and her reply was “I think the show is much better than the movie and book.”

The next day, Mrs Hobden, who is the head teacher, told us how proud she was of all of us and she hoped that in the future we may be doing something like that again.
