RAF Cosford Remembrance service

13 November 2018 (by castleb)

In September RAF Cosford visited our Y6 children to speak to them about remembrance and the centenary of the end of World War 1. They launched a competition where the children had to write a poem about remembrance.

The winners were then chosen by RAF Cosford staff. Our winners, Aaminah Sadiq and Jessica Kilroy, went to the RAF Cosford Remembrance service in Hanger 1 along with their families and Miss Rice. They read their poems to hundreds of people watching, including: WW2 veterans, Museum staff, RAF personnel and the public. Miss Rice then laid a wreath on behalf of CBJS. All of the people watching were so impressed by the confidence our children showed and how beautiful their poems were. Their poems have been displayed at the museum for visitors to seen.
